Bishop Willie J. Barr Jr. Ph.D. is a dedicated husband to his wife Juanita since August 1984. He is a father of two, and a grandfather of one. Bishop Barr became the senior pastor of Great Dalton Baptist in December 2010 and was consecrated Bishop in September 2015.
He is a shepherd with a sincere commitment to helping people grow spiritually in the power of the Lord. He’s excited to help people discover their purpose and to walk in God’s amazing grace and mercy.
At the age of seventeen, Bishop Barr accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, and began preaching two years later. Bishop Barr served honorably in the Unites States Army. A strong advocate of education, Bishop Barr received his Associates, Bachelors, Masters and Doctorate from Family Bible University and Seminary. Bishop Barr is a certified advanced licensed counselor by the National Christian Counselors Association (NCCA).
He passionately engages people with practical biblical teaching and encourages everyone to live a life that reflects the glorious light of the Lord.
Bishop Barr works for the DC government as a Training Specialist at the Center for Professional Development and Learning.
Most importantly, Bishop Barr loves the Lord and is a true man of God.
First Lady Juanita Barr is a native of Baltimore, Maryland and a graduate
from Edmondson High School. Edmondson is where she met the love of her life, Willie Barr Jr. He’s been her sweetheart since 1981 and husband since 1984.
Juanita loves The Lord and desires to please Him with her whole heart. Her passion is working with children and showing them the love of Christ. In the church she serves on the planning committee and leads the children’s usher board.
She has worked as a licensed day care provider and a clothing exchange sales person while with her husband in Germany. She currently works as a registered pharmacy technician.
